ArtsBridge announces 2018-2019 field trips and classes

ArtsBridge, a nonprofit educational outreach program of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, has announced its schedule of programs for 2018-2019.

The programs begin Sep. 2 with a master class in musical theatre dance taught by a cast member of the touring production of Aladdin, appropriate for grades 6-12. According to the press release, The class includes a warm-up, combinations in the show’s style of choreography, and an informative ‘Behind-the-Scenes’ Q & A where students are encouraged to ask about auditions, Broadway, and the thrill of performing every night!”

Artrageous:  “Watching a team of artists painting at electric speed right before your eyes, accompanied by amazing vocals, creative choreography, high energy live music, and unforgettable audience interaction, is an experience you’ll never forget! This is Artrageous. Giant artworks come to life with amazing speed unveiling larger than life icons and masterpieces, all the while there is constant activity on stage, delighting your senses. Appropriate for grades K-12,

Dance Theatre of Harlem: “An informal presentation on the art and science of classical dancing, a lecture/demonstration is a fun and accessible introduction to ballet. Specific exercises that develop jumping, turning, partnering, lifting and dancing on pointe are demonstrated and explained. An audience participation segment in which members of the audience are invited to the stage to try some of the movements or test the similarities between social dance and ballet is included. Throughout, excerpts from Dance Theatre of Harlem’s repertoire demonstrate how the elements that have been discussed come together to create the magic of dance. Appropriate for grades 3-12,”

and Sesame Street: “Jump to the beat with your friends on Sesame Street! Introducing an all-new, interactive show that unfolds on one of the world’s most famous streets at the funniest, furriest party in the neighborhood. This is a perfect show for preschoolers and the perfect way to introduce young children to live performances. Appropriate for all ages.”

Community Outreach at ArtsBridge Foundation said,  “We are excited to present engaging and inspiring educational arts programs for students of all ages. Our field trips are tied to Georgia Standards of Excellence and the Common Core, and we welcome public school and private school groups as well as homeschoolers.  Our master classes provide opportunities for professional and personal development, and our family programs are a great way to introduce younger children to the joy and magic of live performances.”
