Women from all over Cobb County and Georgia will race in Acworth’s Georgia Peach Women’s Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, Aug. 5.
The triathlon begins with a 400-yard swim through a course in Lake Acworth, continues with a 13-mile bike course, and finishes with a 5k run to a finish line on Main Street in Downtown Acworth.
Transition opens at 5:30 a.m. and the triathlon swim begins at 7:30 a.m.
Following the race, awards will be given at 11 a.m for overall top three finishers, masters top three, Athena top three and relays top three. There will also be three age group awards given to age groups spanning 15-and-under to 70-and-over.
Post-race food will be provided for participants in downtown Acworth.
The race is $95 and $130 for relay teams, and registration includes a Georgia Peach Women’s Sprint Triathlon T-shirt. Athletes can register for the triathlon on the Georgia MultiSports website, but must sign up before the day of the race.
