Tim Gould officially became the newest member of the Smyrna City Council Monday night after being sworn in by Cobb Superior Court Judge Ann Harris.

Gould, a 50-year-old small business owner, won the Ward 6 seat vacated by Doug Stoner by beating out four other candidates, including Idella Moore in a runoff.

On July 24, Gould picked up 603 votes (60.3 percent) to Moore’s 397 votes (39.7 percent). Voter turnout was 18.9 percent. He was joined by several family members and friends during the swearing-in ceremony.
