Smyrna’s WoofStock Pet Party in the Park will return for its 17th year this Saturday and Sunday, September 29 and 30, at Smyrna Market Village.

What is Woofstock?

Woofstock is one of the largest annual pet adoption events in the southeast, with an estimated 40,000 attendees every year. The party includes family-friendly activities, which pets can also participate in, as well as food trucks, arts and crafts, and live music. Admission into the event is free, and activities and craft purchases will benefit animal rescue charities.

Dogs, cats and other pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times. There will be plenty of activities for animals to participate in, including lure chasing and dock diving games, contests, and family pet portraits.

The event is sponsored in part by Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, a non-profit charity dedicated to saving dogs and cats from shelters in north Georgia. The organization will be tabling at the event to accept tax-deductible donations to benefit animals that would otherwise be put to sleep or not receive the medical care they need to survive. Attendees who donate at the event or on the GoFundMe campaign will also be entered to win prizes.

More than 50 other nonprofits, rescue groups will be tabling under tents at the event to talk about their rescue efforts and how animals-lovers can get involved. There will also be arts and crafts vendors selling toys and tools for keeping pets happy and healthy.

The address for the event at Smyrna Market Village is 2840 Atlanta Road, Smyrna, Georgia 30080.
