According to a public information release from Senior Patrol Officer Nicholas St. Onge of the Marietta Police Department, the department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on June 14, 2023, at about 8:30 p.m. on Powder Springs St at Bellemeade Dr.
In their initial report investigators state that a 36-year-old motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Powder Springs St when a 39-year-old motorist, exiting a parking lot of 1166 Powder Springs St in a 2016 Dodge Ram, turned left to travel westbound and into the path of the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was struck on the driver’s side of the Dodge and was ejected from his motorcycle. The motorcyclist was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Officer N. St. Onge at 770-794-5352.
