Hello.
On the eve of Labor Day, a well-deserved holiday break from August’s heat unofficially marks the end of summer. It also marks the season of transition, with autumn beginning in late September. South Cobb Regional Library (SCRL) shall usher in the fall season on Saturday, September 21st at 10:30 AM, after enduring the summer—even in light of a small glitch with the Cobb County Public Library’s online calendar of events.
(If one is experiencing an issue with viewing events for South Cobb Regional Library or any other branch library, just stop by your local library to receive a printed copy of September’s calendars, one for adults and one for kids. A librarian will be happy to assist you.)
For South Cobb Regional Library, the children and adult calendars for September are light and comforting. In addition to the staples of Baby Time and technological literacy, SCRL is cooling off from the summer with offerings of hobbit tea (for kids) and movie entertainment (for adults).
Amidst the host of leisure activities, the following are the more impactful events scheduled at SCRL:
- Boost Your Creativity: AI for Work & Life, September 4th, Wednesday at 6:00 PM (Registration required);
- CAREing PAWS: Read to Koda, September 9th, Monday at 3:30 PM;
- Fire Investigation Seminar, September 16th, Monday at 11:00 AM;
- Empowering Voters: Understanding Georgia’s Voter Laws, September 18th, Wednesday at 6:30 PM.
Please also note that the South Cobb Regional Library shall be closed for Labor Day on September 2nd, Monday.
As always, check out that book, and get your creativity on. Your brain will thank you.
