If you’re a fan of comics, graphic novels, science fiction, video games, board games, or any of the other enthusiasms that fall under the vague name Geek Culture, the City of Marietta has an annual event for you!
Marietta Parks, Recreation & Facilities announced that Marietta the Gathering, a festival held each March in Glover Park on Marietta Square, “celebrating Geek Community, pop culture, and the arts, will return on Saturday, March 7 from 10:00am – 8:00PM.”
According to the announcement:
This family-friendly festival, sponsored by Rocket Fizz – Marietta, will include the Guild Show, a collection of art makers, merchandisers, crafters, and smiths; Tourney Alley, a street full of board games, card tournaments, and a gaming truck; as well as several other panels, performances, and contests in and around Glover Park on the Marietta Square.
Schedule of Events:
“The Guild Show” (Open from 10AM to 8PM)
The Guild Show is a collection of artists, makers, and merchandisers showcasing their wares.
Tournament Alley (10AM to 7PM)
Tents will be set up down East Park Square hosting an array of tabletop gaming, card play and gaming vendors.
Concerts:
- 5PM – Azazus
- 7PM – Raspberry Pie
