Because the school year concludes at the end of May, marking the month as Maycember (as it is understood), parents must add to the juggle of activities and responsibilities their children’s summer schedule. Fortunately, Mountain View Regional Library has scheduled some breathing room for parents.
With a relaxed June schedule, the library’s take on its system’s dino-themed summer occurs on Thursday, the 25th of the month, in the form of Dino Discovery Day. Beginning at 11 AM, Dino Discovery Day allows children between the ages of 3-12 to have an hour’s worth of prehistoric fun. There will be dinosaur stories and the crafting of dinosaur eggs. This event will even tap into the curiosity of young minds through “fossil excavations”, introducing children to paleontology. NOTE: Children must be accompanied by a participating parent or adult care giver.
In addition, Mountain View’s Dinosaur Eye Craft, suited for kids age 14+, occurs Tuesday, June 30th at 5 PM. A ceramic art event, young people will tap into their inner artist—or perhaps their future ophthalmologist-self—and use their own hands to shape dinosaur eyes. By so doing, they just might look into past or into themselves. NOTE: West Cobb Regional Library has a similar event occurring earlier, on June 12th.
As these dino events occur toward the end of June, the open schedule and event staples of Mountain View Regional Library will allow parents to create a unique summer schedule to visit it, for their children or themselves. Here are few of its other June events:

Be advised that Mountain View Regional Library shall close Friday, June 19th for Juneteenth.
