With children returning to school on August 3rd, South Cobb Regional Library has on its August schedule a couple of community building events.
The first, among other adult and senior focused events for the month, is Speed Friending. Connect with the Mableton community through new friendships at the library on Saturday, August 1st at 2:00 PM. This two-hour gathering is ideal for those new to the area or in need of escaping family or social hounding, about not having actual friends or social connections in real life. 😊 Speed Friending is for adult 18+, and participation is flexible, so come late or leave early.
On Monday, August 24th at 6:30 PM, the Cobb County Public Library Board of Trustees will meet at
South Cobb Regional Library, for its monthly meeting. The board meets on determined Mondays that rotates between ten of the sixteen branch libraries every month, skipping the months of July and December.
The Library Board of Trustees consists of nine, volunteer members that are appointed by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, and each member serves a term of three years. The board sets policies for the library system and provides guidance on activities that are scheduled at libraries.
