Town Center Community announced in a press release that it will offer a first look at its 30-Year Vision Master Plan and kick off a campaign celebrating three decades of growth when it hosts its fifth annual State of the District on Oct. 27.
The event, scheduled for 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Governors Gun Club in Kennesaw, will bring together community leaders, stakeholders, partners and supporters to discuss the growth and future of the Town Center area in Cobb County.
The gathering comes as the organization prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027. This year’s State of the District will launch a yearlong campaign recognizing the partnerships, investments and planning that have helped shape the area.
The program will highlight district accomplishments involving mobility and connectivity improvements, green spaces, public art and placemaking investments. Attendees will also get an early look at the Town Center 30-Year Vision Master Plan, which is intended to serve as a roadmap for the district’s future growth and connectivity.
“Our upcoming 30th anniversary celebration is an opportunity to recognize the vision that launched Town Center Community and the collective efforts that have helped it grow into the vibrant district it is today,” said Tracy Styf, executive director of Town Center CID. “We look forward to bringing the community together at the State of the District to mark this milestone and preview what’s next for Town Center.”
The program will include a fireside chat with Washington-based urban design leaders Erik Aulestia, principal of planning and urban design at Torti Gallas + Partners, and Jon Stover, founder and managing partner of Jon Stover & Associates. Styf will also provide a community update.
Eric Bosman, senior vice president at Kimley-Horn, will moderate the discussion.
Town Center CID will recognize two people or organizations through its Community Champion and Commercial Champion honors. The Community Champion award recognizes outstanding contributions to the community, while the Commercial Champion award honors efforts to advance a vibrant and connected Town Center through investment, business leadership or community engagement.
Nominations for the awards are open through Sept. 23 and can be submitted through Town Center CID’s website.
Proceeds from the State of the District will benefit the Lanie Shipp Hoover Fund, which supports future trail, park and greenspace projects throughout the Town Center Community.
The fund’s first project will transform an unusable remnant parcel at the roundabout on Barrett Lakes Boulevard into a nearly 4-acre park. Plans call for sidewalks, open green space, a small gathering plaza, shaded seating and native landscaping.
Kennesaw State University is presenting the 2026 State of the District. Sponsorship opportunities are available to organizations interested in supporting the event and engaging with the Town Center Community.
