A 3-year-old boy is safe after being spotted wandering alone near a busy Marietta intersection Monday evening.
Police say they were notified about 5:45 p.m. that the youngster was observed standing on Franklin Gateway near the intersection with Twin Brooks Drive. He was rescued and police canvassed the area. Alerts were also posted on mainstream outlets as well as Marietta social media and authorities say the youngster was reunited with his family about two hours later.
A 22-year-old caregiver was arrested and faces charges of cruelty to a child in the second degree, felony and reckless conduct, a misdemeanor.
She was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
