Free Oct. 15 showcase will celebrate the company’s first decade and reveal its four-show 2027 season

Marietta Theatre Company distributed the following press release about its partnership with Cobb PARKS:

Marietta Theatre Company (MTC) will celebrate its 10th anniversary by bringing its 2027 season to Jennie T. Anderson Theatre through a new partnership with Cobb County PARKS. The move will nearly triple the nonprofit theatre company’s audience capacity while giving it a larger stage for the Broadway-style musicals audiences have embraced throughout its first decade.

MTC will give audiences an early look at what is ahead during Marietta Theatre Company’s Greatest Hits & 2027 Season Reveal Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15. The free, 90-minute anniversary celebration will feature performances by top local talent, revisit memorable moments from the company’s first decade and culminate in the public reveal of all four titles in its 2027 season, presented in partnership with Cobb PARKS. Admission is free, reservations are required and guests are encouraged to donate what they can in support of MTC. Seats may be reserved at MariettaTheatre.com.

“Marietta Theatre Company has never been defined by a particular building. It’s defined by the people who come together for each production,” said Katrina Stroup, co-founder and board president of Marietta Theatre Company. “We are honored to continue serving the patrons who have supported us throughout our first decade and to welcome even more people at Jennie T. Anderson Theatre. The stage may be larger, but the connection between our artists and audiences will remain at the heart of all we do.”

Named the 2026 Best of Cobb winner for Live Theatre, Marietta Theatre Company was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2017 and has operated continuously for nearly a decade without a permanent performance venue. The volunteer-led organization has produced professional-quality, Broadway-style musicals at two venues on the Marietta Square. MTC’s focus remains on producing high-quality entertainment, creating opportunities for local artists and making musical theatre accessible to the community.

Through the new partnership, MTC will present its full 2027 season at Jennie T. Anderson Theatre, while Cobb PARKS will bring additional programming to the venue. The company’s first full production at the theatre is expected to open in February 2027.

“Marietta Theatre Company has spent nearly a decade creating artistic opportunities and enriching our community through live theatre,” said Michael Brantley, director of Cobb County PARKS. “Cobb PARKS is pleased to support its mission, and our hope is that this partnership will help Marietta Theatre Company reach more artists, residents and visitors while bringing additional top-notch programming to Cobb County.”

Located within the Cobb Civic Center complex, Jennie T. Anderson Theatre features 606 seats, a proscenium stage, professional-quality technical capabilities, concessions and a dedicated parking lot. The venue offers MTC nearly three times its most recent seating capacity while preserving the close connection between performers and audiences that has shaped the company’s theatrical experiences.

Community support has sustained Marietta Theatre Company throughout its first decade, with ticket sales covering less than half of its operating expenses. The free Oct. 15 showcase is both a celebration and a thank-you to those who have been part of MTC’s story. In preparation for the 2027 season in a larger venue, MTC invites the community to support its work by attending performances, volunteering, donating or becoming a sponsor. Customized sponsorship opportunities beginning at $5,000 include benefits such as website and program advertising, on-site visibility and season tickets.
