MOUNTAIN VIEW REGIONAL LIBRARY HOSTS SPOOKY FUN AND SCIENCE
Waiting until the last couple of October weeks, Mountain View Regional Library will open the portal of its Halloween events with a BOOgie Woogie Dance Party on Friday, October 23rd at 10:30 AM. Designed for preschoolers (3-5) by Rhythm Dance Center, the party will allow children to indulge in silliness, active games, and monster dances. And if they’re up to, attend wearing their favorite costume. It’s sure to be a spooky, boo-gie down morning.
Closer to Halloween, Spooky Senses for Teens is sure to inspire a few creative or imaginative ideas for teens (12-17), and hopefully not nightmares or pranks, with exploring sounds, textures, sights, and scents of horror. Not to be excluded, attendees will also create an unsettling spell of their own making to taste. Teens learning better themselves while having fun through an evening of sensory spookiness occurs on Tuesday, October 27th at 5 PM.
For children ages 6-12, Mountain View Regional Library appeals to their inner-Einstein with Meteorites: Rocks from Space! on Thursday, October 22nd at 4 PM. It’ll be an hour of related book readings and Q&A with NASA Solar System Ambassador, Chris Thompson. Youngsters will also take home their own meteorite sample. (Space enthusiasts in general are also welcome to attend.)
The space program sets up Halloween Science Spooktacular, a second event for the 6-to-12-year-old crowd. Hosted by science professors and students of Georgia Highlands College, future X-file agents will learn inferential reasoning through science-based knowledge, as they investigate and solve bizarre and mysterious happenings and occurrences at the library. The “truths” at Mountain View shall be discovered on Tuesday, October 27th at 3:30 PM.
NOTE: Participation in Halloween Science Spooktacular has currently reached capacity; guardians who have registered their children for this program are required to attend as well.
