It looked like something out of a car chase scene in an action movie.
Acworth police say a driver was hurt Tuesday evening when he lost control of his van, which wound up wedged-in the air- between a townhome and a retaining wall.
Police say driver an 82-year-old driver from Acworth was making a left from Northside Drive onto Lemon Street and misjudged the turn.
Trying to avoid the median, he overcorrected and his foot slipped. He accelerated and hit the building, with his vehicle winding up suspended about 10 feet off the ground.
First responders stabilized the dangling vehicle, extricated the driver of the van and took him to Wellstar Kennestone hospital to be evaluated and treated for injuries. Authorities say he is expected to survive.
An Acworth police spokesman told the Courier that there was no indication of drug or alcohol impairment.
