The summit is free, and lunch will be provided. RSVP is required, at either monicadelancy@hotmail.com or 770-369-6531.
Children can attend with their parents, and the summit is open to the community.
Monica Delancy, an organizer of the event, told River Edges,
This is an opportunity for parents and community stakeholders to come out and learn how to be partners in the community and promote safe, healthy, strong schools.
The focus is south Cobb, but nobody will be turned away. Primarily the south Cobb schools have a track record of not being qualified as great schools, so we want to promote the south Cobb area schools as great schools.
It’s an opportunity for businesses to find out from parents what they need as it pertains to serious engagement, community involvement, that sort of thing. The key word here is partnership: forming a strong partnership with the parents, community stakeholders, and also businesses, throughout not just south Cobb, but throughout the Cobb Community.
