This is a reminder that there will be a work session, called by Cobb County’s Director of Sustainability, Waste, and Beautification on Wednesday August 31 at 2 p.m. at the Cobb Civic Center to discuss customer complaints about waste management companies that operate in the county.
While the program will not allow questions or comments from the public, you can email your input prior to the event at trashcomplaints@cobbcounty.org.
Leaders of the waste management companies, and the members of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, have been invited.
According to the news release about the meeting posted on the county website, the waste company leaders have been invited “to address a history of complaints by residents in Cobb County of missed pickups, poor customer service, and lack of recycling services.”

Dr. Jonathan Jenkins hopes the meeting will allow the group to exchange questions and concerns and help generate solutions to address the complaints. A proposed code amendment package about the situation was met with concerns by the board, prompting this renewed look at potential solutions.
The meeting will occur at the Cobb County Civic Center, 548 South Marietta Pkwy SE, Marietta. The meeting will be a work session with no public comment, and CobbTV will stream the event on its outlets (www.cobbcounty.org/CobbTV). Residents can still provide their feedback at trashcomplaints@cobbcounty.org.
