Cobb Communication Director Ross Cavitt distributed the following public information release about an event this evening, “Future of Policing,” hosted by District 2 Commissioner Jerica Richardson and the Cobb County Police Department:
“Atlanta, GA (November 28, 2022): District 2 Commissioner Jerica Richardson will host the Cobb County Police Department for a forum on the “Future of Policing” on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. This will happen at the Boy Scouts of America at 1800 Circle 75 Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30339. This event is open to the public, and anyone interested in how technology shapes police work is encouraged to attend.
“Cobb’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) will be discussed along with multiple options to help the public better secure their homes and businesses through technology partnerships with the police department. Cobb Connect (home and business camera registration) and a FUSUS display will be on hand to show how we are already using technology to solve, deter, and prevent crime.
“Personnel and equipment from Cobb County Police SWAT, Crimes Against Persons (Homicide/Robbery), Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (Bomb), and Real Time Crime Center will be available to demonstrate how we are using current technologies today to save lives and the capabilities of the future. From drones to cameras to robots, come see how Cobb County Police Department uses technology to better serve and safeguard the community.
