According to a public information release from Officer Nicholas St. Onge, the Marietta Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating the death of a motorcyclist that took place on Monday, July 10, 2023, at around 2:03 p.m. on Delk Road just east of Bentley Road.

The public information release described the accident as follows:
The initial on-scene investigation revealed that a 2017 Kawasaki ZX1000 was traveling westbound on Delk Road. A 2023 Toyota Camry was exiting 2700 Delk Road and turned left in front of the approaching motorcycle. The motorcycle operator attempted to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful. The motorcycle collided with the Toyota causing the rider to completely lose control of the bike. The motorcycle and its operator slid across the east bound lanes of Delk Road where it struck a stopped 2013 Infiniti FX. The motorcycle operator was transported to WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
