The Marietta Fire Department honored its first responders and support staff in an awards ceremony last Friday, February 17, 2024.
The announcement of the awards on the Marietta website stated, “Thank you to all our fire department employees, and congratulations to those recently recognized.”

The award winners were:
Appreciation Award- Richard Wheat- Metro EMS instructor
Appreciation Award- City of Marietta Fleet Maintenance
Rookie of the Year- Brandon Johnson
Firefighter of the Year – Michael Austin
Firefighter Engineer of the Year- Ben Eidson
Officer of the Year- Bobby Moss
Medal of Merit- Michael Austin
