The Marietta History Center (MHC) announced on the City of Marietta website that the first event for its Fall programming schedule will feature Amy Albers, Georgia Room Library Assistant.
On Monday, September 16th, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the Marietta History Center, Albers will present a talk entitled “The Secrets and Scandals of Colonial Georgia.”
According to the announcement:
This lecture promises to offer intriguing insights into the lesser-known aspects of Georgia’s colonial history, shedding light on the secrets and scandals that shaped the region. Ms. Albers will be available for questions after her presentation.
Albers holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Valdosta State University.
She is a Marietta resident, and her work in the Georgia Room involves assisting patrons with genealogy and history research. She also freelance writes on topics “such as travel, parenting, and books.”
The MHC recommends purchasing your tickets in advance through our website. Refunds will only be issued if the event is canceled.

About the Marietta History Center
The Marietta History Center is located at 1 Depot St, Marietta, GA 30060, adjacent to the western edge of Marietta Square, facing the railroad tracks.
The center is housed in the historic Kennesaw House, which was at various times a cotton warehouse, a hotel, and a Civil War morgue and hospital.
The museum began in 1996 and became an official entity of the City of Marietta in 2018.
