A full day of vegetarian food, cooking demonstrations and educational speakers will take place this Saturday, Nov. 10, at the seventh annual Atlanta Veg Fest at Marietta’s Cobb County Civic Center.

The festival is held by the Atlanta Veg Fest nonprofit, whose mission is to support and promote vegan and plant-based lifestyles and diets. Presentations, kids activities, and a vegan-friendly vendor market will start at 10 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.

The opening presentation will be a live recording of the Bearded Vegans Podcast, about the benefits and ethics of veganism. There will also be a presentation by environmental activist and race car driver Leilani Münter, and several other discussions on the topics of food justice, transparency, primates, and the health of plant-based diets. There will also be cooking demos of vegan and plant-based meals.

A vegan-friendly market with more than 70 vendors will offer samples of vegan and plant-based food. In addition to food booths, there will be tabling organizations supporting wildlife and the environment, as well as holistic and vegan lifestyles.

The event is free to attend, but suggested $5 donations will be accepted at the door. Donations support the nonprofit, but nobody will be turned away for not being able to donate. The first 300 attendees will receive gift bags with coupons and samples from festival sponsors.
