According to Officer Sarah O’Hara of the Cobb County Police Department the department’s Crimes Against Persons division is investigating a murder near the intersection of Austell and Pat Mell roads.
Police called to homicide on Austell Road
On Saturday November 17 police responded to a person shot call. The uniformed police found the victim, Jack Myles, 25 lying on the ground near Austell Road. He was taken to Kennestone Hospital where he died of his wounds.
The suspect in the shooting has been identified as Cordale Jefferson, 27. An arrest warrant was taken out from the Cobb County Magistrate’s Office charging Jefferson with Homicide – Murder and Aggravated Assault.
According to the public information release, “Video surveillance captured Jefferson just prior to the shooting. That image has been attached as well as his driver’s license photo. Jefferson is described as a black male, approximately 5’5″ in height, with a medium build. Jefferson has multiple tattoos including ‘BADAZZ’ on his forehead, two tear drop tattoos under his left eye, and a money bag tattoo under his right eye.”
At this time, Jefferson has not been arrested.

The Crimes Against Persons Division of the Cobb County Police Department is commanded by Major Dan Ferrell. It is broken into several units including Homicide, Robbery, Crime Analysis, Crime Scene, and Domestic Violence/Stalking. The division also handles missing persons and technology-based crime.
