Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH) has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its FY2026 budget. This is the 10^th year CDPH has received this award which recognizes state and local governments in North America for producing high-quality, transparent, and user-friendly budget documents. It encourages excellence in budgeting, serving as a benchmark for effective communication and financial planning. 

In order to receive the budget award, CDPH had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories, and in the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award.
