The 16th Biennial “Georgia Celebrates Quilts” show, organized by the East Cobb Quilters’ Guild, will be held at the Cobb County Civic Center, 548 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, June 8-10, 10 a.m- 6 p.m. The admission is $10.00.
The East Cobb Quilters’ Guild was honored with a proclamation by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners at the May 23 BOC meeting, in celebration of the upcoming quilting show.
According to the proclamation:
East Cobb Quilters’ Guild was formed in 1982 by a group of thirty quilters in Marietta, Georgia whose vision was to promote and perpetuate the art of quilting. Since that time, the Guild has grown to nearly 300 members, fostered the development of many nationally- and internationally-known quilt artists and businesses, produced the state’s largest judged and juried quilt show, Georgia Celebrates Quilts®, and enriched the lives of the thousands of quilters who have enjoyed the inspiration, knowledge, and friendship that Guild membership provides.
The Guild’s purpose is to promote and perpetuate the art of quilting and to foster community goodwill. The Guild sponsors lectures, workshops, and exhibits that benefit and educate members and the community about quilting.
