ACWORTH, Ga. — The Acworth Adult Flag Football League will begin play soon, and there is still time to sign up as a team or a free agent.

Teams of up to 17 players will play 7-on-7 games at the Acworth Sports Complex football fields, Tuesday evenings. The first game of the season will be played on Tuesday, March 13.

Both men and women are welcome to play in the league, and teams can choose to name their team anything they want. Teams must provide their own jerseys, which can also be designed however they choose.

The league will keep track of records, statistics and players of the week after each game, and the teams with the best records will compete in the AAFFL Cotton Bowl at the end of the season. Last year, 19 teams participated in the league and the 76ers came out on top of the standings.

Registered teams are guaranteed at least eight games in the season, and canceled games due to inclement weather will be made up on Thursdays.

Players can register on the Acworth Parks and Recreation website, $600 as a team or $55 as a free agent. Registration deadline is March 5.
