The Community Affairs unit of the Cobb County Police Department has a goal “to foster the relationship between the police and the citizens of Cobb County in order to have a positive police-community relationship.” Coffee with a Cop is one way of fostering this relationship. At scheduled times and places twice per month, with one session per month in an afternoon, and one in a morning, Cobb residents can get to know a police officer in their precinct in a relaxed, informal setting.
The website for Coffee with a Cop describes the purpose of this program as follows:
“Building relationships. One cup at a time.
Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together–over coffee–to discuss issues and learn more about each other.”
Officer Nathalie Jegg, who is responsible for community affairs in Precinct 4, provided us with the schedule of times and locations of Coffee with a Cop in East Cobb.
