Pebblebrook and Riverside Community cleanup to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy

If you’re looking for something to do to give back to the Cobb County community in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, there will be a cleanup of the Pebblebrook and Riverside communities this Sunday, January 20, starting at 2 p.m.

Monica Delancy of the We Thrive in Riverside Renters Association sent the following announcement:

Hello I hope all is well.  MLK day is fast approaching and we would like to observe MLK, and make the National Day of Service a day on not a off, on Sunday January 20th by helping keep the Pebblebrook/ Riverside Community Clean. We will meet at 2pm at The South Cobb Recreation Center 875 Riverside Parkway Austell Georgia 30168 and disperse in teams to 3 locations in the area. We would like for your organization to bring at least 10 people to help clean up.   If at least 50 people show up we will have the area clean in less than 3 hours. Tell your coworkers, friends, family, neighbors: Volunteer on Sunday January 20th then on Monday January 21st you can take part in MLK parades and other celebrations.

The official day for MLK Day is Monday January 21st however that day is packed with NAACP Cobb County celebration at Turner Chapel and also the Civil rights Museum will be offering free passes that day.
