The overnight lane closures on South Cobb Drive between  Austell Road and the I-75 northbound lanes that were announced for Sunday will continue beginning this evening.

This is an ongoing resurfacing project.

According to a press release from the Georgia Department of Transportation,

Weather permitting, single lane closures will be in place on SR 280/S Cobb Road between Austell Road and the I-75 northbound lanes, each week night beginning Tuesday, April 23 until Friday, April 26, from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following mornings.

These closures are designed to help ensure safety for workers and drivers during   patching the roadway, initial preparation for milling, inlay and resurfacing work that will improve the road’s deteriorating condition. The project is scheduled for completion in late fall 2019.
