According to an update from Officer Sydney Melton of the Cobb County Police Department, an arrest warrant has been obtained in connection with a murder that took place on July 4 on Penny Lane in Precinct 4.
The suspect, a 20-year-old Marietta man, is currently in custody in Cherokee County on unrelated charges. The warrant charges him with aggravated assault (intent to murder) and felony murder.

Homicide
On Thursday, July 4, 2019 at approximately 1:16 a.m. Cobb County Police Department uniform officers from Precinct Four were dispatched to 1333 Penny Lane in reference to a male who had been shot. Upon arrival, officers located a victim deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was identified as 17-year-old Jalante Brown. Next of kin has been notified.
