The City of Smyrna‘s Memorial Day Ceremony will feature guest speaker Staff Sergeant Tamara Kosoris, a Smyrna resident and business owner.
The ceremony will be held on Monday, May 29 at 9:30 am at the Veterans Memorial next to City Hall.
Kosoris served in the US Marine Band from 1998-2004 in both New Orleans, Louisiana and Albany, Georgia.
In 2016, she opened the Viking Alchemist Meadery in Smyrna, and became a part of the Irreverent Warrior 501 (c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to reduce veteran suicide by introducing veterans to a family of camaraderie, understanding and support.
Through their Silkie Hike events, 60,000+ veterans have been directly impacted. Kosoris founded the Atlanta Chapter of Irreverent Warriors in 2020.
