According to a public information release from Officer B. Jean of the Marietta Police Department a motorcyclist was seriously injured after being hit by the driver of a Ford Explorer.
The collision happened yesterday, Tuesday November 14, at around 5:50 p.m. on Powder Springs Road at Sandtown Road.
The investigation, still ongoing, is being conducted by the department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit.
According to the public information release, the initial on-scene investigation indicated that the driver of the Explorer was traveling southbound on Powder Springs Rd and attempted to turn left onto Sandtown Rd.
The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Powder Springs Rd crossing the intersection, when he was struck by the left-turning driver of the Explorer.
The motorcyclist was transported to Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries.
