The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Cobb County and much of north and central Georgia today, Thursday, April 11, 2024. 

The advisory is in effect until 8 p.m.

The statement gives the following details:

…WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING…

* WHAT…Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* WHERE…Much of north and central Georgia.

* WHEN…Until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.

  Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may

  result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high

profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
