Cobb County YMCAs Seeking Volunteers for Annual Days of Service Projects on Sept. 13

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta submitted the following press release:


The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking volunteers on Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14 for its annual Days of Service projects.

The McCleskey-East Cobb Family YMCA and Northeast Cobb Family YMCA need volunteers on Friday, September 13 to help build and plant six raised garden beds. Attendees will volunteer from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Church at Green Acres’ Community Garden located at 591 Pat Mell Road, Smyrna, GA 30080.

Additionally, the Northwest Cobb Family YMCA is seeking volunteers for Friday, September 13 to participate in a community garden building project. Attendees will build a self-sustaining community garden to provide fresh produce for children and families the Y serves during school breaks. Attendees will volunteer from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Northwest Cobb Family YMCA located at 1700 Dennis Kemp Ln., Kennesaw, GA 30152.

These events are part ofthe YMCA of Metro Atlanta’s annual Days of Service projects. The Y is hosting this year’s annual events on Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14. The organization will bring together volunteers from across the metro Atlanta area to complete service projects benefiting communities in need. Working together with volunteers, staff and partner organizations, the Y aims to build and strengthen communities where everyone belongs.
