A lengthy police manhunt during which shots were fired at a busy Cobb County intersection ended last night, according to police, although information has not been made available about the status of the suspect.
Cobb Police say they made contact with Damian Strozier, 31, wanted for murder by Atlanta authorities. Police say after Strozier pointed a handgun gun at police, an officer opened fire with his service weapon.
Strozier then fled the scene of the confrontation at Windy Hill Road and Leland Drive on foot. The intersection is near I-75.
Cobb police said later via social media that the suspect had been located, but did not give more information except to state that the “there is no longer a perceived danger to the public …”
Local news stations report that Strozier was wanted for murder in a case where a 67-year-old woman was struck by someone riding an electric scooter last month. She later died of her injuries.
