Mableton council agenda includes appointment of interim police chief

The Mableton City Council will meet at 6:30 this evening, Wednesday September 9
at the Riverside EpiCenter, 135 Riverside Pkwy, Mableton, GA 30168.

A work session will precede the regular meeting at 5:15 p.m.

The council will consider a resolution to designate Dr. Anthony Kerry Stallings, appointed Aug. 26 as Mableton’s inaugural Public Safety Director, to simultaneously serve as interim police chief while the city continues searching for its inaugural permanent chief. The resolution describes this as a continuity measure rather than an end to the chief search.

The council will also consider replacing the city’s existing software system with one from
SagesGov. The agenda packet states that the currently used system has been inadequate.

The agenda packet puts Sages’ estimated five-year cost at about $350,520, including a $76,600 implementation charge and recurring software costs.
