Early voting has kicked off in Cobb County and across Georgia leading up to the Nov. 3 midterm election.

Voters will be deciding among a broad slate of candidates, ranging from U.S. House and Senate hopefuls to races for Lt. governor, attorney general and a slate of other statewide offices to state house and senate races to county commission and school board contests. Cobb voters will also have three ballot questions to decide.

The hottest races this election season have been the governor’s race, pitting Republican billionaire Rick Jackson against former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and the U.S. Senate contest between incumbent Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Mike Collins.

Voting Hours will mostly be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. but weekends will see altered schedules. More than a half-dozen spots across Cobb have been designated as early balloting locations.

More information on early voting hours, locations and absentee ballot instructions can be found on the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page: mvp.sos.ga.gov. Additional information can be had by contacting the Cobb County elections office at cobbcounty.gov/elections.

One of several forms of identification is required for voting at a polling location, including driver’s license, passport, government-issued ID containing a photograph of the elector, or military ID.

Early voting is set to wrap up Oct. 30.
