Record-breaking voter turnout continues across Georgia. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says 2 million 452 thousand in-person ballots had been cast as of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, up 22 percent from totals recorded during the same period in 2022.

“Georgia voters deserve the highest praise,” said Raffensperger in a news release. “They are shattering in-person turnout records because they trust our election process. “  He also praised local elections officials for what he called a “free, fair and fast” election period.

The story was much the same for Cobb County Elections and Voter Registration, which had recorded 144,904 in-person early voters on their website as of Tuesday.

Neither local or state elections officials have reported any major glitches. Early voting is set to wrap up Oct. 30 in advance of the Nov. 3 election.

The highest polling numbers in the county have been recorded at the Tim D. Lee Senior Center, the East Cobb Government Service Center and the First Baptist Church of Smyrna.
