The statewide average is 3 cents lower than a month ago but 96 cents higher than a year ago. Filling a 15-gallon tank costs about $57.90 at the current average. The average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline statewide is $3.85 as of this morning.
Gov. Brian Kemp’s suspension of the state gas tax runs through Oct. 29, according to AAA’s report. Prices remain higher than usual for this time of year despite the recent decline.
“Drivers are getting some welcome relief at the pump as lower crude oil prices and Georgia’s suspension of the state gas tax help keep fuel costs in check,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “While gas prices have dipped below $4 a gallon, drivers can save even more by driving efficiently, staying current on vehicle maintenance, and combining errands when possible.”

EV Charging Rates
EV charging rates were hovering around 42 cents per kilowatt hour at commercial DC fast charging stations nationally, and about a cent less in Georgia.
Home charging is much cheaper, particularly during overnight off-peak hours. Check your local utility provider for rates.
National gas prices ease after September record
The national average fell 11 cents over the past week to $4.36 a gallon, following what AAA described as a record-setting September.
September’s national monthly average reached $4.33, exceeding the previous September record of $3.83, set in 2023, by 50 cents. AAA said crude oil prices in the low-$90-per-barrel range have helped ease pump prices, although gasoline costs remain at record highs for this time of year.
