Trustees at Marietta-based Life University have named Dr. Brian Kelly as the school’s new president. The appointment was announced in a weekend news release.
School officials say Kelly has more than 30 years of experience in chiropractic leadership and practice and has held numerous professional leadership roles. Most recently, he was in private practice in Auckland, New Zealand, focusing on athletes and concussion care.
Dr. Sandra Elbaum, chair of the school’s board of trustees, said the search focused on finding a president who could strengthen the university’s foundation, uphold its academic standards and position Life U for sustainable growth.
“Brian brings the leadership experience, professional credibility and vision to help us do exactly that,” she said.
Kelly earned his chiropractic certification in Australia and holds a master’s degree in the subject from a university in New Zealand.
He is expected to assume his new role next month, replacing Dr. Lee Skinkle, who served as interim president of the more than 50-year-old institution.
