Third suspect in Cobb County rail yard murder arrested in Florida

A gold set of the scales of justice

[The Cobb County Courier has a policy of omitting the names of suspects in crimes until there is a conviction or guilty plea, except in high profile cases where exoneration is as likely to be publicized as widely as the initial arrest. This case meeting the criteria of a high-profile case]

A third suspect wanted in a mid-September murder in Cobb County was arrested in north Florida Thursday morning.

Police say 27-year-old Ty Anthony Thompson was nabbed by Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies and is being held there pending extradition.

He is facing charges of felony murder and aggravated assault in the murder of Curdravious Clark, who was found in the Norfolk Southern Rail Yard and had been hit by gunfire.

Clark died of his injuries at Wellstar Kennestone hospital. Two other suspects in the case were arrested in late September, jailed and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses. Those two are being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
