Sergeant Dana Pierce of the Cobb County Police Department said the department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the body found Friday, June 2 in Nickajack Creek below the bridge over the Silver Comet Trail.  The department is trying to identify the deceased through fingerprint records, but that approach will only be successful if the person has been in the criminal justice system.

Pierce said, “We think this guy’s going to be between 19 and 24. He does look fairly young for his age.”  He said no evidence of foul play has been discovered.

Anyone who has a missing relative or friend who might be the deceased should phone 770-499-3945,  he said.  A detective has been assigned to the case, and the phone number will connect callers with the Crimes Against Persons Unit.
