Great Day of Service

Here’s the general report of the event:

Bright and early on August 24th, Whitefield Academy hosted their Great Day Of Service supplying over 45 local civic causes including Keep Smyrna Beautiful, Trees Atlanta, Our Giving Garden, Vision Rehabilitation Services, Keep Cobb Beautiful and MUST Ministries with volunteers and support. The morning started off with songs of praise, worship and words of encouragement. At 9 AM, the crowd separated into their pre-assigned projects. It was a very moving experience for everyone involved. All of us in Cobb County appreciate their willingness to volunteer and lead by example.

Cleanup on Buckner and Pebblebrook Roads

Krebs also submitted a report on Whitefield’s cleanup of their Adopt-a-Mile on Buckner and Pebblebrook roads:

One of the many projects available during the Great Day Of Service was a litter cleanup of their adopted one mile of Buckner Road and one mile of Pebblebrook Road. Volunteers from Whitefield Academy spent their Saturday morning improving the appearance of their community. It was a fun time getting a little exercise while bonding with other Whitefield students and parents.

If your school or organization is interested in exploring the Adopt-A-Mile program, please contact Dawn at keepcobbbeautiful@cobbcounty.org . She can fill you in on all the details.
