The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Cobb County and adjacent and nearby counties on Thursday, September 12, beginning at 8 a.m. 

The advisory is in effect until 5 a.m. tomorrow Friday September 13.

* WHAT…East winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected.

* WHERE…Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, North Fulton, South Fulton, Union,

  Towns, Paulding, and Polk Counties.

* WHEN…From 8 AM this morning to 5 AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree

  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high

profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, North Fulton, Paulding, Polk, South Fulton, Union, Towns

Including the cities of Dallas, Atlanta, Marietta, Douglasville,

Cedartown, Decatur, Blairsville, Hiawassee, and East Point
