South Cobb Regional Library gives the gift of creativity in its December line-up

South Cobb Regional Library has on its December schedule a creative itinerary, with its Hand Made for the Holidays leading off the month on Tuesday, December 2nd at 3:00 PM. Designed for children (and their guardians), this event will impart youngsters with self-transcendent, egalitarian values, by their handmaking ornaments and picture frames for family and friends. Kids may bring photos or keepsakes to include in their creation.

For adults, the last Adult Art Night of 2025 involves making Giant Snowflake Wall Décor. Scheduled on Wednesday, December 3rd at 5:00 PM, this relaxing event could produce one half of a complimentary gift set, between it and November’s continuing Winter Card Making event (in December).

In the same spirit as North Cobb Library’s Work For Yourself @ 50+ Workshop, South Cobb Library’s Making a Resume in Word is a gift of service to its community. Scheduled for Thursday, December 4th at 3:00 PM, ten attendees who may be unschooled or perhaps need a refresher in computers and technology; but are also applying to or looking to transfer jobs may find this computer class beneficial, in helping them create a resume. (Walk-ins will be allowed if space is remaining.) By facilitating the self-sufficiency or sustainment of independence, the library is helping individuals contribute to the community through employment. This is clearly a demonstration of South Cobb Library’s year-long, indelible, egalitarian value, which shines over it with the brightness of the North Star. More so during the holiday season.

Lastly, for the literary inclined, an interesting line up by which to close out the year at South Cobb Regional Library:

  • A Celebration of Jane Austen, Saturday, December 6th at 1:30 PM
  • Teen Unbook Club, Wednesday, December 10th at 5:00 PM
  • The Last Word Book Discussion, Thursday, December 11th at 4:30 PM

(The Listeners by Maggie Stiefvater)

  • A Deeper Look Book Discussion, Wednesday, December 17th at 5:00 PM

(Why We Die: The New Science of Aging and the Quest for Immortalityby Venki Ramakrishnan)

NOTE:

South Cobb Regional Library will be closed:

  • Wednesday, December 24th for Christmas Eve
  • Thursday, December 25th for Christmas

(Wednesday, December 31st, the library closes early at 5 PM on New Year’s Eve.)

The Cobb County website is currently under development, and so library events may be unavailable online.
