Light snow and dangerously cold wind chills are forecast for parts of north Georgia beginning tonight and continuing into the weekend, prompting a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service for Wednesday, January 14.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north and central Georgia.

.DAY ONE…Tonight…

No hazardous weather is expected through tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Wednesday through Monday…

Light snow showers will occur in the mountains of north Georgia
between 7 PM this evening and 7 AM Thursday. Flurries are possible
as far south as the I-20 corridor. Up to an inch of snow may fall
on the highest peaks, with half an inch or less expected for
elevations below 2500 ft. Significant travel impacts from the
snow are unlikely, but travelers should still us caution.

Very cold wind chills, between 0 and 15 degrees, are anticipated
in north Georgia Thursday morning. A Cold Weather Advisory may be
considered with later forecast updates.

Additional light snowfall is possible in the mountains Friday
night or Saturday morning.
