According to a news release from the transportation consulting firm HNTB, the Cobb County Department of Transportation invites residents to a Public Open House on Jan. 29 to gather community feedback on the East‑West Connector Corridor Improvements Study, a planning effort to improve safety, mobility and operations along a key local corridor.
The Public Open House will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Connection Pointe Church of God’s Fellowship Hall, 888 East‑West Connector. Attendees should enter the parking lot via Hicks Road and use the side entrance to access the hall.
CCDOT launched the study to “evaluate current conditions, identify travel needs, and develop concept alternatives to improve safety, mobility, and operations along the East‑West Connector, from Powder Springs Road to Cumberland Parkway at the Interstate 285 overpass, including a segment of Atlanta Road between I‑285 and Cumberland Parkway.”
Organizers said the open house will be in an informal, open‑house format with exhibits and interactive stations where residents can speak with project team members. “There will be no formal presentation,” CCDOT said, and attendees can share input on existing conditions and transportation needs along the corridor.
Public comments can be submitted in person at the meeting by completing a comment card and placing it in the comment box, mailed to the Cobb County Department of Transportation at 1890 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008, or emailed to DOTPlanning@cobbcounty.gov.
