The Marietta city council will consider the proposed FY 2018 budget for the city on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at 7 p.m., at 205 Lawrence Street Marietta, GA, 30060, in the first-floor city council chambers. According to a press release from the city, City Manager Bill Bruton and the finance staff have submitted a balanced budget with no proposed service reductions or increases in taxes or fees.
The press release from the Marietta communications department states:
The general fund budget funds general government services including police and fire services, parks and recreation programs, code enforcement, planning and development, and streets and public works maintenance. The City’s millage rate that supports governmental services is currently 2.788 mills and is expected to remain the same.
The City’s overall FY 2018 budget is $322 million, which includes the $56.69 million for the general fund budget.Advertisement
Public hearings were held yesterday at noon and 5 p.m. to allow input on the budget. The city council will vote on the budget at the June 14 meeting.
