David Thatcher, of Sterling Seacrest Partners, a commercial insurance broker with Cobb County-based Sterling Seacrest, was awarded the “Builders’ Cup” by the Georgia chapter of  Associated Builders and Contractors at their annual business meeting in January at the Cobb Energy and Performing Arts Center.

Bill Anderson, president of the chapter, told the Cobb County Courier, “Our association is really membership driven.  We really build relationships. Our focus is bringing in quality new members into the organization and to help our members work together on construction projects.  The Builder’s Cup is to recognize the member who actually helped us recruit the most new members in the calendar year of 2017.”

Thatcher specializes in commercial and professional insurance in the construction industry.  He has more than 20 years experience in the industry.  Prior to joining Sterling Risk Advisors, he was an architectural sales manager for Block USA, CEMEX and RMC Allied Materials. His specialties include construction and contracting regulations, construction materials, and the construction process from the perspective of owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

He is active in both Associated Builders and Contractors and Associated General Contractors.  He has a bachelor’s in business administration from UGA’s Terry College of Business, with a major in marketing, and lives in Dunwoody.
