ACWORTH, Ga. — Registration is open for Acworth’s introductory lacrosse camp, which teaches young children the fundamentals of gameplay in a safe and educational environment.

Boys and girls from 1st to 5th grade can sign up to learn from experienced lacrosse coaches from Jump Start Sport. The class will teach the primary skills of the sport, including passing, catching and shooting, as well as advanced techniques like team spacing and positioning. Players are divided by gender and age to play games and scrimmages.

Plastic lacrosse sticks, soft balls and all other equipment is provided. No helmets or shoulder pads will be used in the field but in the interest of safety, body and stick checking is not permitted.

Practices will be held on Thursdays at Logan Farm Park Field, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., starting March 15 and ending April 26.
