Jim Miller Park event center set to open
According to Cobb County PARKS, the Jim R. Miller Park event center, a state-of-the-art facility, will open in September, in time for the North Georgia State Fair. The 41,000 square foot facility is the largest structure funded by the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). There are 25,000 square feet of rentable exhibit and event space. The facility’s space can be equally divided into three sections to cater to any needs.
Suitable for a number of events
According to the PARKS announcement:
“The facility is an excellent option for events like:
- Weddings, receptions, quinceañeras and reunions
- Corporate meetings and training or seminars
- Civic meetings and church socials
- Banquets
- Trade shows
- Concerts and dances
- Festivals and expos”
A meeting room and kitchen facilities
There are also a meeting room and kitchen facilities available. The indoor and outdoor parts of the complex can be combined for larger events like festivals. The floor plan for the building is on display here.
The event center will be ready during the North Georgia Fair State Fair, so if you visit the fair, you’ll have an excellent opportunity to new facility.

Cara Lynn, the facility manager for the event center, told the Courier that the price list for use of the facility is long since there are so many different configuration options for rooms.
